The former Disney star was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody to fulfill the sentence handed down by Judge Marsha Revel after Lohan violated the terms of her probation.
She arrived at the Beverly Hills courthouse just after 8:30 AM Pacific in jeans and a blazer, accompanied by lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley.
A herd of paparazzi surrounded the troubled starlet. According to reports, someone in the crowd tossed confetti on Lohan as she entered.
On July 6, Lohan was ordered to serve 90 days for violating the terms of her probation. (Holley requested that Lohan have two weeks before beginning her sentence.) The violation stems from Lohan’s failure to attend alcohol education classes on a schedule set by the judge.
Sources say Lohan will mostly probably serve just 22 days, but she also faces 90 days of in-patient rehab whenever her jail sentence ends.
Lohan will be in a holding cell at the court house before being transferred to the all-female Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif.
